Painting and gardening are my hobbies. Both are concerned with color, design, placement and texture. I grew up in Shrewsbury and have lived 'next door' in Boylston since 1971. My husband, Brian, and I raised our two daughters there. I started painting in earnest ten years ago, beginning with decorative art. Kathleen Vuonna and Carol McCubrey were two of my first teachers as I painted flower pots, bird houses, rocks, mailboxes and greeting cards.

As I progressed, I took classes at the Worcester Art Museum with Kat O'Connor in drawing and watercolor. Bill Griffiths has been my teacher for numerous classes in acrylic painting. I have begun painting with oils and look forward to taking many more classes at WAM.
